DIY Gift for Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is coming up! If you blink, you’ll definitely miss it!

I am so lucky to have 3 beautiful kids and a sweet husband, but I still hate Mother’s Day because I really miss my mom! She died 11 years ago now and Mother’s Day always brings up happy memories of my mom and also some tears that I can’t send her an awesome Grandma gift!

The reason why I love Mother’s Day is because I get a chance to celebrate every woman in my life! I believe that a mother’s love is special, but I also believe that that love is a choice. I believe that being a mother is choosing to put your needs aside on a regular basis and give your love unconditionally to someone else. When I go by that standard, I have so many women in my life to be grateful for! I truely am lucky!

Let’s actually get to the craft!

A few years ago, I made the cut file on the jar picture above. I cut it with my Silhouette Cameo 3 and added it to the jar I found at KMart. Remember when KMart was in business? Anyway, I found a similar one here from Amazon It has a metal lid to keep cookies fresh!

Another option is a big mason jar with a lid –linked here from Amazon- it is so farmhousey and cute!

For this project, I used Oracal 651 in black because it is permanent and won’t come off when it is hand washed (the dishwasher is a bad idea).

The last piece is the cut file that I have for sale in my Etsy shop. I even added a file to give you a Grammy option instead of Grandma if that’s what you call your grandma! I also have a cut file that says World’s Best Mom if you are interested.

Here are some other ideas on how to use the cut file and a picture of the World’s Best Mom cut file too! When you make something with my files, tag me on Instagram! I’d love to see what you’re making!DIY Gift for Mother's Day
